Moai Morning

Taken at Tongariki on Easter Island at about 5am this Moai cut a hauntingly lonely figure in his eternal lookout over the ocean.

I wish I could say more about this wonderous place and its amazing history but the simple fact is that after four days on the island spent with a wonderful guide we left realising that we know so little about what happened on Easter Island, So without wanting to either spoil the surprise should you go there or promote any one theory above another I shall say no more.

Easter Island is a Polynesian Island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian triangle. The island is a special territory of Chile. Easter Island is famous for its monumental statues or Moai and in my opinion is well worth the visit.
