Galapagos Hawk Hovering

The only original predator on the Galapagos Islands, this raptor has inhabited the Galapagos archipelago for over 300,000 years.

They are known for their fearlessness towards humans and indeed this one sat on my rucksack just after this photo was taken.

Having given my bag a good pecking and having tried, unsuccessfully to my relief, to take off with the bag in his clutches, the Hawk took flight in search of lighter and tastier meals!
